Looking for a unique Italian eggplant to grow in your garden? Check out Rosa Bianca! This Sicilian heirloom features beautiful pink, white, and violet streaks. The fruits are plump and rounded, with a creamy, mild flavor that's free of bitterness. Plus, they have very few seeds. Rosa Bianca eggplants are typically 4-6" long by 5-7" in diameter. Yields may be low in cooler areas, but this eggplant is definitely worth growing for its beauty and delicious taste. 125mg ~ 25 seeds.

Start seed indoors 6-8 weeks before transplanting into the garden. Optimum soil temperature for seed germination is 70-90 degrees. Transplant to the garden 2 to 3 weeks after your average last frost. Eggplants love it hot. They tend to grow best when daytime temperatures are 80-85 degrees. When plants are about 6" high, nip back the growing tip to encourage branching. Eggplants benefit from full sun, cold weather protection, black plastic mulch and possibly row covers.
