Rossa de Verona Radicchio is an heirloom cultivar of the chicory plant. This unique Italian variety has a distinctive red hue and grows rugged, strong plants. The leaves can be harvested and eaten fresh or trimmed away to produce clusters of apple-sized heads. 375mg ~ 300 seeds

Plant seeds directly in the garden in the spring as soon as the soil can be worked. Optimum soil temperature for seed germination is 45-70°F. For transplants, start seed indoors 3-4 weeks before transplanting into the garden. A few weeks before transplanting time, harden off plants by exposing them to an increasing number of hours outdoors each day. Transplant to the garden up to 4 week before your average last frost date and up to 1 week after. Time transplants to mature in cool weather for best result.
