Roman chamomile (Chamaemelum nobile) grows as a low, spreading perennial with apple-scented daisies that make a mellow, slightly bitter tea. Unlike German chamomile, it forms a short groundcover—great between pavers or as a soft edging herb. Long used to calm upset stomachs and skin, it’s also a gentle lawn substitute where traffic is light.

Give it sun, decent drainage, and a trim after bloom to keep it tidy. Harvest flowers for drying or fresh infusions; the plants will bounce back quickly. A small patch pays dividends in fragrance, pollinator traffic, and herbal teas all season.

Every order is packed with care by our small team in Pennsylvania and typically ships within 2–3 business days—often by the next business day. We ship throughout the United States using USPS and UPS.

Unopened items may be returned within 30 days of delivery. If an order arrives damaged, incomplete, or incorrect, please contact us so we can make it right.

Start seed indoors 4-6 weeks before transplanting into the garden. Optimum soil temperature for seed germination is 65-85 degrees. Transplant to the garden after your average last frost date. Or, plant seeds directly in the garden 1-2 weeks after average last frost date. Sow thickly, thinning to a group of 2-3 plants every 8".
Chamomile self-sows readily. Harvest flowers when petals are expanding. Dry on a screen in a cool, dark & ventilated area. Or, hang upside down for drying.
