Swiss Chard
Swiss chard combines tender leaves with colorful stems in white, yellow, orange, pink, and red. It brings long-lasting harvests to beds and containers and can be used like spinach in sautés, soups, gratins, wraps, and fresh young-leaf salads.
Sow in cool weather, thin well, and harvest the outer leaves while leaving the center intact. Plants tolerate summer heat better than many greens and often continue producing until hard frost.
