Snapdragons line cool-season gardens with upright flower spikes in nearly every color, from soft pastels to deep reds and bicolors. Tall types make excellent cuts, while compact varieties fit borders, containers, and edging.

Start early and transplant into cool conditions for the strongest stems and longest bloom. Pinch branching varieties when young if desired, and cut or deadhead regularly to encourage more flowers.
