Peppers
Peppers range from sweet bells and frying types to richly flavored chiles and intensely hot varieties. Grow green, red, orange, yellow, purple, brown, and nearly black fruits for fresh eating, roasting, stuffing, drying, fermenting, sauces, and spice.
Start seeds indoors, transplant after cold nights have passed, and provide full sun and warm soil. Fruits can be harvested green or left to ripen into their mature color for greater sweetness, depth, and—where applicable—heat.
