Shipping Policy
At Bucktown Seed Company, we aim to make shipping smooth, reliable, and fairly priced.
Order processing & shipping times
Orders typically ship within 2–3 business days (many go out sooner). Orders placed after 12:00 PM ET on Friday through Sunday are processed the next business day.
Rates & free shipping
Shipping rates are based on destination within the United States. Free standard shipping applies to orders of $79 or more shipping to the contiguous U.S. (after discounts, before tax, gift cards don't count towards free shipping thresholds). Orders shipping to Alaska and Hawaii are not eligible for free shipping and are charged at standard carrier-based rates.
Bulky & heavy items
Some products—such as seed trays, plug flats, coco coir bricks, fertilizer bags, germination stations, and grow-light kits—are heavier or require larger cartons. These items ship at our heavy-goods rates, which are based on total weight and destination. Any additional heavy-goods shipping charge is calculated and shown at checkout before you place your order. Free shipping promotions apply to seeds and small goods; heavy-goods charges may still apply when bulky items are in your cart. In some cases, select bulky items may not be available for delivery to Alaska or Hawaii due to carrier limitations and cost.
Carriers & methods
We ship primarily via USPS: Priority Mail Express, Priority Mail, and First-Class Package. The exact method is chosen based on weight, size, and destination.
Delivery estimates
Carrier delivery timelines are estimates and not guaranteed. Weather, carrier delays, or high-volume periods may extend delivery times.
Tracking your order
When your order ships, you’ll receive a confirmation email with a tracking link. If you don’t see it, check your spam or junk folder. For in-transit updates, you can contact the carrier directly using your tracking number.
Cancellations & revisions
We work hard to process orders quickly, so once your order is placed, we’re unable to make changes, add items, or cancel it.
Correct shipping information
Please double-check your shipping and billing address at checkout. If an incorrect or insufficient address is provided, see the undeliverable section below.
Undeliverable/insufficient address
If a package is returned to us due to an incorrect or insufficient address, we can reship once the package is returned in its original condition. The corrected address must be confirmed by you, and any additional shipping costs are due before reshipping. Original shipping charges are non-refundable.
Out-of-stock items
If an item in your order becomes unavailable, we will substitute it with a similar item of equal or greater value when possible. If a replacement isn’t available, we will issue a refund for the out-of-stock item.
Damaged, missing, or lost packages
If your order arrives damaged or is missing items, contact us promptly with your order number and photos of the packaging and contents. For packages marked delivered but not received, check with household members and neighbors first; then contact the carrier and us so we can help investigate.
International orders
We currently ship to U.S. addresses only.
