About Us

Bucktown Seed Company is a family-run seed company in Chester County, Pennsylvania, offering open-pollinated, non-GMO seeds, guided garden collections, and practical growing support for gardens of every size and purpose.

More Than a Garden—It's a Way of Life

We started Bucktown Seed Co. the same way many of our customers begin—with a handful of seeds, a backyard bed, and the desire to grow something real for our family.

What began at our Chester County, Pennsylvania home in 2021 has grown into something bigger than we imagined: a family-run seed company rooted in tradition, trust, and the simple joy of growing something good.

We’re not just here to sell seeds. We’re here to help people begin, plan with confidence, and discover how much food, beauty, and abundance can come from even a small piece of ground. That may mean a first garden, a few containers on the porch, a bed filled with flowers for pollinators, or a larger garden grown for the table and the seasons ahead.

Our mission is to make growing—and the freedom that comes with greater self-reliance—more accessible. We offer high-quality, open-pollinated, non-GMO seeds for vegetables, herbs, flowers, grains, and specialty crops. Many are heirloom or Certified Organic, while seeds grown here at Bucktown are produced using Certified Naturally Grown practices. Growing and certification details are clearly listed on each product page.

We’ve also built guided garden collections around the ways people actually grow. Whether you are planting your first seeds, working with a small space, growing herbs for the kitchen, filling a cutting garden, supporting pollinators, or preserving varieties through seed saving, our goal is to make it easier to find a clear place to begin.

Alongside individual varieties, we offer curated seed collections, themed garden kits, growing guides, and practical tools to help you move confidently from seed to harvest.

We’re guided by faith, inspired by the wonder of creation, and grounded in the belief that good things still come from the dust of the earth. Christa’s passion for education and wellness, combined with my background in photography and love for growing food, helped shape Bucktown into what it is today—a place where real food, real beauty, and real stories take root.

Whether you’re putting food on the table, planting a flower bed, saving seed for another season, or simply learning to grow, we’re honored to be part of your garden story.
