HEIRLOOM, ORGANIC.

Looking for a delicious and reliable heirloom lettuce seed? Look no further than Black Seeded Simpson. This old favorite has been around since 1875 and is adaptable to a variety of climates. The large, loose light green leaves are lightly crumpled with an inner layer that blanches almost white. The upright plants grow large and are slow to bolt, making them perfect for early spring or summer harvests. 500mg ~ 500 seeds.

GROWING TIPS

Plant seeds directly into the garden starting 4 weeks before average last frost date or as soon as the soil can be worked. You can also start seeds indoors 2-4 weeks before transplanting. Optimum soil temperature for seed germination is 50-70 degrees. Lettuce seed does not germinate well if soil temperature is above 80 degrees. Resume planting in late summer for a fall harvest. Lettuce is cold tolerant and will tolerate light to moderate frosts. Succession plantings every at 2 weeks intervals will provide a steady supply.

Black Seeded Simpson - Organic Lettuce

This is the 1st time that I have planted lettuce from seed in my garden. I could not be more happy with the Black Seeded Simpson. Not only is the lettuce growing great, it is great tasting. Every Monday morning, I cut enough lettuce to last me until the weekend. I will be buying more next year
