GROWING TIPS
Plant seeds directly in the garden in early spring around average last frost date (sow in the fall in the south). Optimum soil temperature for seed germination is 60-65 degrees. Thin seedlings when they are about 1" high. Successive sowings can be made every two to three weeks. For transplants, start seed indoors 4-6 weeks before transplanting into the garden. Harden off and transplant to the garden after your average last frost date. Chilling seeds to temperatures of 40-45°F for 1 week before sowing can improve germination rates.
