Garlic Bulbs

Grow garlic for bold kitchen flavor, scapes, roasting, preserving, braiding, and storage. Hardneck types often offer rich flavor and edible scapes, while softneck varieties tend to keep longer and braid well.

Separate bulbs into cloves just before planting, set them in fall where winters are cold, and give them well-drained soil and full sun. Harvest when the lower leaves begin to brown, then cure thoroughly before storage.
