Red Corn Poppies are slender annuals native to Europe, and can be found in cultivated fields, meadows, and roadsides. The flowers have paper-like petals and are brilliant red – making them a beautiful addition to any garden. Poppies are a self-seeding annual and an excellent choice for mass plantings. Grows 12-30" tall. 500mg ~ 3000 seeds.

Plant seeds directly in the garden as soon as the soil can be worked, or 2-4 weeks before your average last frost date. Optimum soil temperature for seed germination is 60-75°F. Starting transplants is not recommended. Poppies are very susceptible to transplant shock. Poppies germinate best in cool soil and are frost tolerant. When seedlings are 2" tall, thin to 1 plant every 6-10".
