Violetta Italia cauliflower brings a distinctive color to your garden. Celebrated for its gentle, slightly nutty flavor, this purple cauliflower offers a delightful taste that sets it apart from the typical white cauliflower. Abounding in nutrients like vitamins C and K, alongside various antioxidants, it provides valuable nutritional content. For spring planting, start seed indoors 5-7 weeks before transplanting into the garden. Optimum soil temperature for seed germination is 50-85 degrees. Transplant to the garden 2 to 3 weeks before your average last frost date. For fall planting, start transplants 7-9 weeks before average first frost or direct sow in garden late summer. Cauliflower should be blanched when the head is about 2 to 3 inches for a white head. Pull 3 to 4 leaves over the head and rubber band. Blanching time is about 4 to 8 days.
