Blue flax is a graceful perennial wildflower with slender stems, fine leaves, and clear sky-blue blooms that open fresh each morning. The flowers are delicate up close, but a group planting creates a soft blue haze that moves beautifully in sun and breeze.

Native to parts of western North America, flax is well suited to meadow plantings, pollinator gardens, dry borders, and naturalized spaces. It asks for little once established, offering quiet color, fine texture, and the kind of beauty that feels discovered rather than arranged.

Every order is packed with care by our small team in Pennsylvania and typically ships within 2–3 business days—often by the next business day. We ship throughout the United States using USPS and UPS.

Unopened items may be returned within 30 days of delivery. If an order arrives damaged, incomplete, or incorrect, please contact us so we can make it right.

Plant seeds directly in the garden as soon as the soil can be worked in the spring, or 4-6 weeks before average last frost date. Flax is a self-seeding variety that is good for attracting butterflies and bees. Plants are drought-resistant and will grow in poor soils, making them for hot, humid summers or cold, windy winters. They also tolerate partial shade, making them a great choice for mixed gardens or areas with difficult growing conditions. Can be used to make linen fabrics.
