Crimson clover lays down soft green growth topped by rich red flower spikes, turning a cover crop into something beautiful enough to admire. Grown as a cool-season annual, it helps protect bare soil, feeds pollinators when allowed to bloom, and adds living color before a bed returns to vegetables or flowers.

The blooms rise like small crimson torches above the foliage, making this a useful choice for garden paths, resting beds, and pollinator strips. Cut or incorporate before mature seed forms, or let a patch flower for the bees.

Every order is packed with care by our small team in Pennsylvania and typically ships within 2–3 business days—often by the next business day. We ship throughout the United States using USPS and UPS.

Plant seeds directly in the soil in early spring or late summer to fall, depending on climate and intended use. Optimum soil temperature for seed germination is 45–75°F. Crimson clover grows best in well-drained soil and is commonly used for cover cropping, forage, food plots, and pollinator plantings. It is a cool-season annual with upright growth and a shallow taproot. Spring sowings may bloom the same year but often produce less growth than fall sowings. In many areas, fall-planted crimson clover overwinters and resumes growth in spring. If allowed to flower and set seed, it may reseed.
