Empress of India - Nasturtium Seeds
🚚 FREE SHIPPING for all orders over $79!
Empress of India nasturtium is an old favorite with deep blue-green foliage and rich crimson-red flowers that glow against the leaves. Compact and tidy compared with trailing types, it fits beautifully in containers, raised bed corners, and edible flower gardens where color and usefulness can share the same space.
The leaves and flowers are edible, with a peppery bite that brightens salads, sandwiches, and summer plates. This heirloom brings jewel-box color, pollinator interest, and kitchen charm in one easy annual plant.
Every order is packed with care by our small team in Pennsylvania and typically ships within 2–3 business days—often by the next business day. We ship throughout the United States using USPS and UPS.

We stand behind every packet we sell. Our seeds are carefully selected, tested for germination, untreated, and guaranteed to be true to variety.
Your seeds are covered for one year from the date of purchase. If they fail to germinate under reasonable growing conditions, arrive damaged, or do not grow true to type, contact us and we’ll make it right with a replacement, store credit, or refund.
Plant seeds directly in the garden as soon as the soil can be worked, roughly 2 weeks before average last frost date. Optimum soil temperature for seed germination is 60-70°f. Thin seedlings to 6-12" after first true leaves appear. Or, start seed indoors 3-5 weeks before transplanting into the garden. Harden off plants prior to transplanting outside. Transplant to the garden 1-2 weeks after your average last frost date. Edible flowers are a great addition to salads, and the spicy flavor compliments any dish. Bumble bees love nasturtiums, so you'll be sure to get plenty of pollinators in your garden.
