Showy evening primrose spreads low and loose with soft pink, cup-shaped blooms that open in the cool of evening and morning. The flowers have a luminous quality, pale and delicate against green foliage, especially when planted along edges, slopes, or naturalized sunny spaces.
This North American wildflower can form broad patches where it is happy, so give it room to wander. It is useful for pollinator gardens, informal borders, and places where a little self-willed beauty is welcome rather than something to be held in a straight line.
