Lilliput Mix zinnias make tight, button‑like pompons in a riot of colors—perfect for smaller arrangements, edging, or weaving through herbs. Plants are compact yet prolific, offering steady cuttings without dominating space. Like all zinnias, they attract butterflies and prefer heat and sun. First grown in Mexico, zinnias became staples of American gardens for their speed from seed and endless bloom. If you need a low, colorful filler that handles neglect and still produces, Lilliput is an easy yes.

Plant seeds directly in the garden after average last frost date when soil has warmed up. Optimum soil temperature for seed germination is 70-90°f. Or, start seed indoors 3-4 weeks before transplanting into the garden. Transplant to the garden 2 to 3 weeks after your average last frost. A week before transplanting time, harden off plants by exposing them to an increasing number of hours outdoors each day. Requires full sun and well drained soil. Cut back old blossoms to encourage new growth.

Will definitely order again

This is my first experience with Bucktown Seed. I was very impressed with the variety of items offered in the online catalog, so I placed my first order. However, unfortunately for me, I never received it, even a week past the scheduled arrival date. I contacted customer service to notify them. They did offer to re-ship my original order at no charge, but my window for planting seeds would be long past by the time the order was expected to arrive. Once given that information, there was no further equivocation, and my account was credited for the lost order. Though I can certainly appreciate that while technically it may not have been their responsibility the package was lost in the mail, they nevertheless backed up their company reputation. If you think of the keywords “customer service“, that was how they resolved the situation. They earned 5 stars.
