A classic Italian Basil, known for its heady aroma and flavor. The dark green leaves are edible and used in many recipes, mostly popularly pesto. Can be chopped and frozen to use in winter or even grown in a sunny windowsill in cooler months. Grows a tall 18-24", relatively slow to bolt.

Plant seeds directly into the garden starting 1-2 weeks after average last frost date, when air temperature is above 65°F. Optimum soil temperature for seed germination is 65-80°F. Or, start seed indoors 3-4 weeks before transplanting into the garden. Transplant to the garden 1-2 weeks after your average last frost date.
