Lauren's Grape - Poppy Seeds
This striking breadseed poppy, developed by garden designer and author Lauren Springer, features deep purple, velvety petals and bold dark centers. It showcases rich, dramatic hues, grows up to 3 feet tall, and thrives in full sun and well-drained soil. An excellent pollinator attractor, it’s perfect for beds, borders, or wildflower meadows. Frost-hardy and self-seeding, this variety ensures lasting beauty in any garden.
GROWING TIPS
Plant seeds directly in the garden as soon as the soil can be worked, or 2-4 weeks before your average last frost date. Optimum soil temperature for seed germination is 60-75°F. Starting transplants is not recommended. Poppies are very susceptible to transplant shock. Poppies germinate best in cool soil and are frost tolerant. When seedlings are 2" tall, thin to 1 plant every 6-10".
