GROWING TIPS
Start seed indoors 4-6 weeks before transplanting into the garden. Leeks tend to grow slowly from seed and are usually started as transplants. Optimum soil temperature for seed germination is 50-80 degrees. Transplant to the garden up to 4 weeks before your average last frost. Hill soil around column throughout growing season to blanch stem. Harvest the whole plant and cut off the roots and all except 2” of the green leaves. Dig before a hard freeze and store in the refrigerator.
