Green Globe is the classic artichoke—big, tight buds with tender hearts and meaty scales. A perennial in mild climates, often grown as an annual elsewhere with an early start. A source of fiber and cynarin, artichokes have long been used for liver support.
Start indoors very early, vernalize with cool temps, then set out. Harvest buds before they open. Let one bloom and you’ll see why bees adore them.
