Blue Lake 274 - Bush Bean Seeds - Organic
HEIRLOOM, ORGANIC.
Experience the exceptional taste and versatility of the Blue Lake 274 bean, a timeless favorite that has delighted gardeners and food enthusiasts since its introduction in 1962. Renowned for its long, dark green pods, this heirloom bush bean offers a delightful crunch and a string-less snap that makes it a perfect choice for fresh salads or as a delicious steamed side dish. With its rapid maturation, the Blue Lake 274 ensures an early harvest, allowing you to enjoy its bountiful yields sooner in the season.
GROWING TIPS
Start seed outdoors after danger of frost has passed, usually 1-2 weeks after average last frost date. Inoculating seeds w/ nitrogen fixing-bacteria may increase yields in areas newly planted in beans. Optimum soil temperature for seed germination is 65-85 degrees. Wait until air & soil has warmed up in the spring. Seeds planted in cold soil can germinate slowly and rot. Bush beans usually provide one large harvest, with a 2nd smaller harvest a few weeks later. Can be planted again in mid-late summer for an autumn harvest.

I'm sorry to hear the beans didn't meet your expectations. While it's good to know the plants are healthy and growing beans, several factors can affect the taste and snap of beans. Soil quality, watering consistency, pest & diseases, and the timing of the harvest all play a big role. We stand by our products and want to make this right for you.
