GROWING TIPS
Plant seeds directly into the garden starting 2-3 weeks before average last frost date when soil temperature is at least 50°F. Successive plantings can be made throughout the summer. You can also start seeds indoors 4-6 weeks before transplanting. Optimum soil temperature for seed germination is 65-85 degrees. A spring planting can last all season long if well cared for. Chard can be planted again in late summer about 6-8 weeks before average first frost date.
