Hawaii African marigold pushes out fat, fully double orange blooms on sturdy stems from early summer to frost. Beyond bright color, plants confuse pests in the vegetable patch and attract beneficial insects. Cut often for arrangements and you’ll get more buds. Heat tolerant and forgiving of lean soil, this marigold is a practical workhorse for borders, cutting gardens, and companion planting around tomatoes and peppers.

Plant seeds directly in the garden after average last frost date. Optimum soil temperature for seed germination is 70-80°f. Or, start seed indoors 4-6 weeks before transplanting into the garden. Transplant to the garden 1-2 weeks after your average last frost date. Removing old blossoms will encourage new growth. Flowers will continue evolving through summer into frost, making them great for containers or gardens where you want something beautiful all season long! Useful for controlling insect pests in the vegetable garden.
