Bright Lights Mix cosmos throws warm shades of gold, tangerine, and scarlet on lacy foliage, lighting up beds from midsummer to frost. This sulphur cosmos species loves heat and poor soil—too much fertility just gives leaves. Cut often and the plants respond with more stems, keeping bees and butterflies busy. Originating in Mexico and Central America, cosmos has long lined vegetable rows to lure pollinators. If a border needs energy and movement without extra water or fuss, Bright Lights steps in and shines.

Plant seeds directly in the garden after average last frost date. Optimum soil temperature for seed germination is 60-70°f. Or, start seed indoors 4-6 weeks before transplanting into the garden. Transplant to the garden 1-2 weeks after your average last frost date. Removing old blossoms will encourage new growth. Plant staking may be required for added support. Sulphur cosmos thrive in hot, arid climates in soil that is more infertile.
