Invigorating lemon-flavored leaves. Fresh leaves are great for teas and salads. Hardy & prolific plant with great lemon flavor and aromatic qualities. Perennial in zones 4-9. 200mg ~ 300 Seeds.
Start seed indoors 6-8 weeks before transplanting into the garden. Optimum soil temperature for seed germination is 60-75 degrees. Transplant to the garden 1-2 weeks after your average last frost date. Or, plant seeds directly in the garden after average last frost date. Harvest leaves after plants have become established. Lemon balm's small white flowers attract honey bees. Can be used for culinary and medicinal uses. Self-sows readily.
