Oriole Orange lights up the bed with vivid tangerine stems and glossy green leaves. Flavor is mild and beet‑like; stems sauté like celery, leaves cook like spinach. Packed with vitamins A and K. Sow spring through fall and cut outer leaves to keep plants producing. Ornamental enough for borders, productive enough for the kitchen—bright color with real purpose.

How to Grow

Plant seeds directly into the garden starting 2-3 weeks before average last frost date when soil temperature is at least 50°f. Successive plantings can be made throughout the summer. You can also start seeds indoors 4-6 weeks before transplanting. Optimum soil temperature for seed germination is 65-85 degrees. A spring planting can last all season long if well cared for. Chard can be planted again in late summer about 6-8 weeks before average first frost date.
