California Orange - Poppy Seeds
HEIRLOOM.
The Orange California Poppy is the state flower of California. Plants grow to 12-18 inches tall with deep orange & pale yellow flowers that measure 2-4" across. Poppies are a self-seeding annual and an excellent choice for mass plantings. Good for attracting pollinators. Short-lived perennial in zones 8-10, grown as an annual in northern zones. 1g ~ 500 seeds
GROWING TIPS
Plant seeds directly in the garden as soon as the soil can be worked, or 2-4 weeks before your average last frost date. Optimum soil temperature for seed germination is 60-75°F. Starting transplants is not recommended. Poppies are very susceptible to transplant shock. Poppies germinate best in cool soil and are frost tolerant. When seedlings are 2" tall, thin to 1 plant every 6-10".
