Giant Imperial Mix larkspur blends blues, lilacs, pinks, and whites on long, elegant stalks that bloom when spring bulbs fade. Tall yet fine‑textured, it slides into cutting rows or cottage borders, reseeding modestly when happy. Larkspur is a distant cousin of delphinium and shares its toxicity—admire, don’t nibble. Historically, larkspur petals were used to tint inks and cloth; today they’re prized for floristry and early pollinator support. Sow in fall or very early spring for best stands, then enjoy vertical color before summer heat takes over.

Plant seeds directly in the garden 3-5 weeks before average last frost or as soon as the soil can be worked in the spring. Can be sown in the fall for bloom the following year. Or, start seed indoors 5-7 weeks before transplanting into the garden. Transplant to the garden around your average last frost date. To improve germination, pre-chill seed for 7 days in a refrigerator. Support is recommended. Larkspur prefers rich, well-drained soil and grows best where summers are
Cooler. Excellent for use as fresh cut flowers or dried.
Caution: all parts of this plant are toxic if ingested.
