Moonflower
HEIRLOOM.
Looking for a plant that will make your garden glow at night? Look no further than the Moonflower vine! This beautiful plant grows up to 12 feet tall and produces giant, 6" white flowers that open at sunset and close before sunrise. The sweet fragrance of the flowers is sure to attract night pollinators to your garden. So why not add a little magic to your garden with Moonflower seed. Perennial in zones 10 and warmer; otherwise grown as an annual. Plants can self-sow. 4g ~ 15 seeds. CAUTION: Do not eat the plants, seeds or foliage of this variety - they are all toxic to humans.
GROWING TIPS
Plant seeds directly in the garden in the spring, roughly 1-2 after average last frost date. Nick seeds and soak overnight in water to improve germination as moonflower seeds have tough seed coats. Optimum soil temperature for seed germination is 65-75°F. Keep moist during germination. Thin to 8-12" when plants are 1-2" in height. Moonflower is a vigorous vine; plant next to a support for the vines to climb. Prefers average soil.
