Picotee cosmos carries white petals crisply edged in magenta, fluttering on tall, wiry stems that sway with every breeze. A classic Mexican native, cosmos thrives on neglect—poor soil and heat just mean more bloom. Cut a bouquet and it answers with another flush, all while feeding bees and butterflies to the end of the season. If you need height, movement, and steady color in a light footprint, Picotee is a simple fix: sow, thin, and enjoy. Its airy habit threads through vegetables, herbs, and perennials without elbowing anything aside.

Plant seeds directly in the garden after average last frost date. Optimum soil temperature for seed germination is 60-70°f. Or, start seed indoors 4-6 weeks before transplanting into the garden. Transplant to the garden 1-2 weeks after your average last frost date. Removing old blossoms will encourage new growth. Plant staking may be required for added support. Great for cutting, beds and borders, and the pollinator garden. Prefers well-draining soils.
