Crimson clover lays down a carpet of rich red flower spikes that feed bees early and fix nitrogen in tired soil. As a cover crop it suppresses weeds, adds organic matter, and breaks up crusty ground with a fine root system. Mow before seed set to turn the biomass under, or let it bloom fully for pollinators and cut bouquets. While clovers have been used in teas and fodder, this one is mainly about soil health and spring color. Sow in late summer or early fall, or very early spring, and watch the soil improve.

Plant seeds directly in the soil in spring and fall when night temperatures are consistently below 65 degrees. Optimum soil temperature for seed germination is 45-75°f. Prefers heavier, well drained soils. Great for food plots, forage ground cover and the flower garden. I
T is a reseeding winter annual with an erect growth habit and a shallow taproot system.
