GROWING TIPS

Start seed indoors 8-10 weeks before transplanting into the garden. Optimum soil temperature for seed germination is 65-85 degrees. Transplant to the garden after your average last frost date. Or, plant seeds directly in the garden after average last frost date, when soil temperature is at least 65°F. Harvest when the petals are expanding. Harvest the cone when it is raised and has turned golden. This wildflower native to the eastern US will attract many types of birds and pollinators.
