Resina calendula was bred for high resin content in its golden-orange petals—ideal for salves, balms, and soothing teas. Calendula has a long herbal history for skin healing and inflammation relief; petals also color soups and rice like saffron. Plants bloom hardest in cool weather, then slow in peak heat and rebound in fall. Deadhead or cut regularly and they’ll keep throwing fresh flowers. Easy from direct sowing, calendula will reseed politely if you let a few heads mature. Resina gives you both garden color and serious herbal potency in one tidy plant.

Plant seeds directly into the garden 2-4 weeks before your average last frost date. Or, start seed indoors 3-5 weeks before transplanting into the garden. Transplant to the garden 1-2 weeks after your average last frost date. In warmer climates sow in the spring for summer bloom and late winter
