Ha’Ogen is an Israeli heirloom muskmelon with lime-green flesh and a spicy, tropical perfume that perfumes the whole kitchen. Medium fruits ripen quickly in heat, with a gold-green rind that nets lightly at maturity. Rich in vitamin C and hydration, it shines in salads with mint or prosciutto. Provide warmth, mulch, and steady water; harvest when the surface turns golden and the stem begins to slip. Originating in Kibbutz Ha’Ogen, this melon was selected for intense aroma and sweetness—if you chase flavor over size, Ha’Ogen is a must-grow gem from the desert turned garden staple.

Direct seed 2 to 3 weeks after average last frost and when daytime soil temperatures are near 70°f. Or, start melon seed indoors 3-4 weeks before your anticipated planting date. Set transplants in the garden 2 to 3 weeks after danger of frost has passed. Optimum soil temperature for seed germination is 65-85 degrees. A few weeks before transplanting time, harden off plants by exposing them to an increasing number of hours outdoors each day. Delay transplanting until your soil has thoroughly warmed up in the spring.

Veggies and fruits

Amazed and surprised that most of the seeds that I purchased sprouted and grew. There are some seeds that I just plant, I don't know whether or not they will grow; but overall I am happy and satisfied with the result. Thank you so much! I will buy more in the future.

Thank you, Jean, for taking time to share your wonderful experience with us! It is always a pleasure to hear that our customers receive such excellent results from our seeds. We look forward to continuing to serve you with the same quality seeds and hope your next experience will be just as satisfactory!
