Maximum Blend snapdragons stack dense spikes of blooms in a wide palette—from creamy pastels to rich corals and burgundies—on stems that hold up in arrangements. Snapdragons hail from Mediterranean cliffs, explaining their love of cool roots and sunny tops. Edible in small amounts, the flowers add a mild bitter note to salads or cocktails, but most grow them for color and pollinators. Regular deadheading keeps them flowering; in mild zones they may overwinter. Use them to anchor a cutting bed or frame a path with texture and height.

Start seed indoors 8-10 weeks before transplanting into the garden. Optimum soil temperature for seed germination is 70-75
°F
. Cover soil very lightly as seeds require light to germinate. Transplant to the garden 1-2 weeks after your average last frost date. Or, plant seeds directly in the garden after soon as the soil can be worked.
Pinching growth tip encourages branching. Typically grown as an annual but can be grown as a perennial in zones 8-10.

We love our Bucktown seeds and have always had much success with anything we’ve purchased and grown from them!

Abundance of sprouts!

I sowed Texas celosia and snapdragons this spring. I was not let down! Often with store bought seeds, you have to plant many to get the results you want, I will be more conservative next time I use Bucktown seeds, they all grew!
